As the son of man came to save he who was lost, we see even the evil spirits recognized him.
Mark 1:23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
Mark 1:24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

The Jews, as a race, have always been surrounded by enemies who have desired to destroy them as a people therefore because of their desperate need for a mighty deliverer, ancient Jewry believed that this promised deliverer was to come in the pomp and glory of a mighty king who would be clothed in supernatural power.  Thus this erroneous teaching became popular throughout Judaism, blinding their eyes to the fact that this Messiah was to first come as a child, then grow up as a man, be caught up into heaven, and then to return in power and might to deliver Israel from her enemies.

He Was to Come as a Child

The prophet Isaiah had this revealed to him in a vision, "for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:  and the government shall be upon his shoulder:  and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.  The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:6-7)

This prophet speaks further, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us).  For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings." (Isaiah 7:14, 16)

The sign came true, the land was forsaken of Herod by his death, and then again by his successor, Archelius, being deposed before this child was seven years old.

Another prophecy concerning the Messiah, "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse (the father of David), and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:  And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him."  (Isa. 11:1-2)  The following events in this chapter carry us through His life before the ascension and after His return.

It was a no more for Mary to have a baby through the intervening power of the Almighty, than for Sarah to give birth to Isaac in her old age.  However, it was only natural for the people who knew Mary to circulate bad reports about her, and only those who believed in the visitation of the angel to her and Joseph would believe His miraculous life in after years, however, have proven the bad reports to be false, and has confirmed the words of he angel in both Mary and Joseph on these different visitations.

The prophet Micah even tells us that his Messiah to be king of Israel would come out of Bethlehem.  (Micha 5:2)  The word "Bethlehem" in Hebrew means "the house of bread."  And the Messiah was born in Bethlehem.

The Child was to Die for the Sins of His People

The same prophet speaks again about this Messiah and tells that, "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant" (Isa 53:2), showing that He is to grow up.  Also that He is to be despised and rejected, wounded for our sins and for the transgressions of this prophet's people, Israel.  He tells us, "he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter," "taken from prison and from judgment," and "for the transgression of my people was he stricken." (Isa. 53:7-8)  His soul was made an offering for sin.  His grave was made with the rich, numbered with the transgressors, etc.

We find here the life of this babe of Bethlehem and a man of Nazareth pre-written over seven hundred years before He was born, and how wonderfully it came to pass.  He was crucified between two thieves (numbered with transgression), and He was buried in a rich man's grave.  Note this account given in the New Testament.

Son of Man

Another Wonderful Miracle

The prophet Isaiah having written more than any of the other prophets concerning the coming of the Savior and we find his book to be the only one completely preserved in the Dead Sea Scrolls, is a profound miracle.  Great significance rests upon the fact when it is known that the fifty-third chapter of Isaiah has long been rejected by Jewry, for they claim it was not in the ancient writings of this prophet, and is therefore omitted from the regular Sabbath readings at the synagogue.  The Dead Sea Scrolls prove the prophecy is genuine, and it must now have it's place in the regular Sabbath readings, regardless of it's effect on the hearers in proof as to their Messiah being the babe of Bethlehem and the man of Nazareth.

To accept Him as their Messiah comes far short of making them Believers, but only makes them better Jews, as they hold to the religion of Judaism, before that pure religion was dressed up in Babylonian garments, and polluted by heathen traditions from Rome.  The Savior never gave another religion in opposition to Judaism with Pagan substitutes such as Sunday for the true Sabbath, Sprinkling for baptism, the substitution for Pagan Holidays for the Holidays set forth in the scriptures, also that Spiritual Israel is to usurp the place which was divinely ordained for the literal seed, etc.

Believed Upon as a Prophet

A great change has come over the Jew in Israel in the last few years in their acknowledging the Savior (Yahshua), to be a great prophet, even though the most of them were taught from children that He was a Bastard.

His wonderful prophecies are now coming to light, through the popular reading of the New Testament in the State of Israel, especially those concerning present day events which just precede His second coming, have led many in Israel to come this wise and correct conclusion.  This is only one step toward them going a little further and admitting His rightful place in Jerusalem as their Messiah.

The Angel's Prophecy

The testimony of the angel's appearing to the assembly of men who saw Him taken up into heaven cannot be discredited, for it was confirmed by many witnesses.  The angel said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:11)  The Holy Spirit gave further testimony as follows, "And he (the Father) shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:  Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began." (Acts 3:20-21)

Sure Signs of His Coming by His Own Prophecy

Just before He ascended to heaven, He gave this wonderful prophecy concerning the Jews and Jerusalem, and the world's condition in the last generation before He returns as Israel's Mighty Deliverer and soon coming King, the King of the Whole world.  (Matthew 2:1-2; Rev. 11:15)

Here is the prophecy found in Luke 21:

"And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations:  and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." (verse 24)

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." (verse 25)

"Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:  for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." (verse 26)

"And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." (verse 27)

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (verse 28)

"And he spake to them in parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees." (verse 29)

"When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own-selves that summer is now nigh at hand." (verse 30)

"So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is at hand." (verse 31)

"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled." (verse 32)

Remarks

Here we find a perfect preannouncement of present day world conditions.  No one could have made such a description nearly 2,000 years before it came to pass without being anointed with power above that of any man.  There was distress of nations and perplexity as there is at the present time, requiring a "United Nations" organization to hold back wars now so overburdened as to threaten it's dissolution.  Men's hearts failing them for fear.  This is world-wide among all classes and races, owing to the threat of an Atom war, which scientist say would wipe out mankind on earth.

The last event before His coming is, "The powers of the heavens being shaken."  This has an is happening by the exploding of Atom bombs in the upper as well as in the strata of our own heavens.  All of these things spoke by Him, and the Jews returning to their homeland, are to be witnessed by the same generation that lives to see him returning as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords to reign on the throne of His Father David.

Now let the people rejoice, those of Israel and of the world, and live in loving expectation of this far-reaching and glorious event, so near at hand.  The fact that all these events and conditions have come to pass, there is no room for doubting that His coming will also follow just as He said.
