What Relation Have Finances to the Gospel?

We talk, think, and hear about people being converted. And indeed if we are not converted we are not yet Christ's.

But money can also be converted. If money is used for wicked devices, it is a snare, for it is then a tool in bringing to pass things which the Lord abhors. If money is used in pursuing selfish, worldly financiering, it a tool which cultivates selfishness.

But what if a person sets about to work and toil and plan and gains much money, and then sends out able ministers of the gospel and uses this same finance to purchase material to publish to everlasting gospel? When the returns yield spiritual conversions and lives gladdened and enlightened with the "hope that maketh not ashamed," that money has been a tool of righteousness which has unlocked priceless treasures, by being converted into channels of divine production of the Word of God.

Tithing

Tithing is a simple plan, but so effective and fair that no other plan has ever measured up to it, for it is GOD's OWN PLAN. To tithe is to pay TEN PERCENT of one's regular income, wages, or increase, to the Lord God. The Lord returns it to you with Profit and great Blessings.

God asks you to prove Him. You have everything to gain because God cannot fail. God will prove to you that He lives and that He is watching you, and His promises are from everlasting to everlasting.
If you tithe and trust fully in Him, you financial worries will be taken care of by Him, don't you think? Do you believe that God is faithful and true and the He love you?
Read what God promises to you personally in Malachi 3:10-12.

"Bring ye all the tithes into the store house." Why? "That there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of host, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
"And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord God of hosts."

Then did not God institute this plan for the good of the tither? He loves you and wants your life to be happy and successful. This plan teaches us to profit. . . . . .with always the present assurance of better things ahead. It gives peach of mind over our personal lives in financial matters.

How God Can Prosper The Tither

There are many ways; the outstanding one is given in Job32:8. "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding." By giving you wisdom to plan for profit, God prospers you. "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth." God gives power.
How You May Tithe

Set aside one-tenth of your regular increase, if a farmer or merchant (before taking out living expenses), or one-tenth of your wages if earning a fixed salary, and devoting it to the work of the gospel which Christ has delivered into our care. Separate your tithe money from your own funds honestly and fairly. By resting and worshiping the Lord on the Seventh Day (according to the commandment), and recognizing it as holy to the Lord, He blessed and prospers us enough on the six working days to take care of our needs. We believe this, and faithfully observe this part of the commandments of God. Cannot we believe a like case that when we set aside one-tenth and recognize it as holy and belonging to God, that He will bless us and take care of our needs with the other NINE-tenths? If His work can be taken care of by the remaining NINE-tenths! The Lord promises to bless us even further so that we are able to give offerings and so lay up rich treasures in heaven.

"THEM THAT HONOR ME, I WILL HONOR" --- 1 Samuel 2:30
